#7 from the series "Such girls" Homage to Sergey Gorshkov

In new works made for the exhibition "Gorshkov2", both artists rethink each other's works. These works - as the younger Gorshkov defined them, "as if they were our own, but only better" - are inspired by another of the author's methods - "find and improve". It lies in the transformative power of art, through which the imperfect things we encounter every day undergo a striking metamorphosis and become what they should be - flawlessly perfect.

The strange figures of welded metal sculptures by Gorshkov Jr. absorb the popular print style and laconic-literal plastic modeling [of Gorshkov Sr.'s works] and acquire more pronounced anthropomorphic features and feminine - rounded and smooth - forms. At the same time, being reincarnated in metal covered with sparkling and iridescent enamel, they do not lose their totemic achraic grotesqueness, but become cult objects of modern times, obelisks of an unidentified era.
