Описание

Alexander Tsikarishvili, leader and co-founder of the Sever-7 group, one of the key artists of the St. Petersburg art scene of the last decade, will present his solo exhibition "Allotriophagy" at the Marina Gisich Gallery. The long-term project, on which the artist has been working for the last two years (the latest works were created in collaboration with Liza Tsikarishvili), has been rethought, lived and mutated over time, turning from an attempt to create a cast of the present, a closed time capsule facing an imaginary future, into a chronicle of descent into the abyss of dream images.

This journey takes place in the logic of describing his own clinical picture. The artist diagnoses himself with an inability to digest reality, which is accompanied by an irresistible urge to continue devouring it, a desire to hide it within himself.

[Allotriophagia is an eating disorder characterized by the desire to eat inedible objects, such as glass, metal, or plastic.]
