"Glass has a unique ability to convey emotions and appeals to the human perception of shape, color and light in space. The brutality of my objects is offset by the beauty of the details and fragility, which make you think more about vulnerability in general and the vulnerability of an individual human being. Once, like many Russian children, I tried a bunch of different clubs with my grandmother's "help" and knew exactly what I didn't want to do (play the piano) and what I wanted to be an artist. When I entered Mukha (St. Petersburg State Art and Industrial Academy named after A. L. Stieglitz), everyone went to textile design and "ceramics are metal", sculpture was chosen by mature men, and glass was not popular. It was only later that I realized that, unfortunately, there was almost no technical basis for mastering this super-demanding material in St. Petersburg, and even in Russia. But my conviction that glass is a unique sculptural medium was".
